Allahabad HC defers hearing of PIL alleging embezzlement of Ram mandir donations due to shortage of time

Lucknow, Jun 18 The Allahabad High Court on Thursday could not take up for hearing a public interest litigation alleging embezzlement of donations and financial irregularities in the management of funds offered at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The matter was listed before a vacation bench at Lucknow comprising justices Saurabh Lavania and Pramod Kumar Srivastava. However, owing to shortage of time, the case could not be heard.

The court has now directed that the matter be listed again on June 22.

The PIL, filed by Mohit Ashok, sought an independent probe into the alleged misappropriation of funds received as offerings at the Ram temple.

The petitioner has also requested the court to direct an audit of the entire matter by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.

The petition raises allegations of financial irregularities in the handling of donations made by devotees and seeks judicial intervention to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of temple funds.
