Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 18 A court here on Thursday dismissed the bail petitions of three accused arrested in connection with the alleged attack on ED officials while they were returning after conducting searches at the residence of former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan as part of the CMRL money laundering case.

Judicial First Class Magistrate-III Tania Mariam Jose dismissed the bail petitions filed by three CPI(M) activists, including Kiran, Shafeeq and Vyshak.

The Museum police had registered a case against around 300 persons last month for allegedly attacking Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials while they were returning after conducting searches at Vijayan's residence in connection with the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) money laundering case in which his daughter Veena T is facing the probe.

The case pertains to an alleged attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel apart from ED officials.

Police have so far arrested 25 persons allegedly associated with the CPI(M), DYFI and SFI.

The three accused approached the court seeking bail, contending that the allegations against them were baseless and that the investigation concerning them had been completed.

However, the prosecution opposed the pleas, arguing that the investigation was still in progress.

Accepting the prosecution's contention, the court rejected the bail petitions.

Police have invoked multiple charges against the accused, including the offence of attempted murder.
