Bihar: Rival educator Roshan Anand gets bail in Khan Sir coaching institute vandalism case

Patna, Jun 15 A court here on Monday granted bail to Roshan Anand in a case related to the vandalism and pelting of stones at a coaching institute of educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as 'Khan Sir'.

Khan Global Coaching Institute was allegedly vandalised and pelted with stones in the Bihar capital earlier this month, with Faisal Khan initially claiming that firing took place at the institution, but police could not confirm it.

However, he later said that an investigation would find out what exactly happened.

Three people, including Roshan Anand, the director of a rival coaching centre, had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Informing reporters about Anand securing bail on Monday, his advocate Niranjan Kumar Singh alleged that the charges against his client were "cooked up and politically motivated".

"Section 109 of the BNS (attempt to murder) was wrongfully applied because the case lacked the legally required elements of intention, knowledge and presence of the accused at the crime scene," the lawyer said.

He alleged that Faisal Khan used his "political influence" to ruin Roshan Anand's status.

"Despite the lack of evidence, Roshan Anand was sent to jail based on a conspiracy and a false statement by Khan sir claiming eight to 10 rounds of gunfire were heard," Singh added.

He claimed that despite serious charges under non-bailable sections of the Arms Act in the counter-FIR against Khan Sir, they obtained interim relief by "suppressing material facts and altering statements".
