New Delhi, Jun 24 A Delhi court on Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of a man accused of robbery and house trespass, saying his release could hamper the ongoing probe.

Vacation Judge Vishal Pahuja was hearing the bail plea of Mohammed Salman, against whom the Hari Nagar police station had registered an FIR.

In its order, the court said, "It is pertinent to note that the applicant/accused, along with his associates, is involved in a serious offence of lurking house trespass and has robbed valuable articles from the house of the complainant, including a laptop, a mobile phone and cash totalling Rs 4.5 lakh."

It said the investigation is at the nascent stage and the co-accused persons are still at large.

"Releasing the accused/applicant on bail at this stage may hamper the investigation, and the apprehension of the prosecution that he may abscond cannot be ignored," the court said, dismissing the plea seeking the relief.
