Kumar, who secured his job in 2021, was dismissed following the discovery that his educational credentials were from a board not recognized by the competent authorities. The court detailed that the board had been listed as non-recognized since 1999, and the termination process adhered to the principles of natural justice, with Kumar being issued a show cause notice and his response duly considered.
The court noted that the matriculation examination was a significant component in assessing Kumar's eligibility for the position, contributing substantially to his merit score. Despite his arguments that the board was recognized and the termination arbitrary, the court found the termination justified, referencing historical notifications and public notices discrediting the board.
