New Delhi, Jun 2 Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai was on Tuesday elevated as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, the law ministry said.
She will assume charge following the retirement of incumbent Chief Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo on June 4.
She was the first woman from Sikkim to be appointed a judge in the Sikkim High Court, a post she holds presently.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended her name on May 22.
