Kota (Raj), Apr 30 A POCSO court on Thursday sentenced a 35-year-old man to 20 years in prison for raping a 7-year-old girl in Kota in September 2024, along with a fine of Rs 1.10 lakh, officials said.
The convict, a native of Baran district, is related to the victim, public prosecutor Virendra Bhanawat said.
According to Bhanawat, on September 1, 2024, the convict lured the girl studying in Class 2 with edibles and took her to his room, where he raped her.
The convict, a daily wager, and the victim lived in the same neighbourhood, he said.
The court passed the order after recording the statements of 18 witnesses and examining 32 documents which were presented before it, Bhanawat said.
