Pune, Jun 20 A special court in Pune is set to pronounce its verdict on June 25 in the rape and murder of a four-year-old girl in Nasrapur village, a government lawyer said on Saturday.
Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar told reporters that the final arguments in the case commenced at 11 am and concluded at 4 pm.
“All essential corroborative materials, including the comprehensive timeline chart, medical evidence analysis, forensic data chart, DNA profiling matrix, and the connectivity chart, were placed on record,” he said.
Detailed written notes of arguments, supported by relevant landmark judgments, have been submitted to the court of Special Judge S R Salunkhe, he said.
“The defence also concluded its arguments today. The honourable court has now reserved the matter for final judgment on June 25,” Misar said.
According to the prosecution, a 1,100-page chargesheet has been filed before the court in connection with the case registered against accused Bhimrao Kamble at the Rajgad police station in Bhor taluka of Pune district.
The crime came to light on May 1 after a four-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and murdered in Nasrapur village, triggering widespread outrage.
