Bhubaneswar, Apr 1 A court in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping a four-year-old girl in 2025.
The additional district judge, Jharsuguda, pronounced the verdict on Tuesday.
“Pankaj Podh, the prime accused in the case, has been sentenced to life imprisonment while his associate Anu Bagh has been sentenced to two years imprisonment,” the Odisha Police said in a statement.
The incident took place on June 27 last year, and a case was registered at Brajrajnagar police station on June 30.
Odisha DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania congratulated the Jharsuguda Police, expressing satisfaction over the “speedy investigation”.
