Patna High Court Dismisses Petition Alleging Mismanagement in NEET UG 2025 Examination

No Evidence of Mismanagement Found; Court Affirms NTA's Compliance with Prescribed Procedures

In a significant ruling, the Patna High Court has dismissed a writ petition alleging mismanagement during the NEET UG Examination 2025. The petitioner, Ankit Harsh, claimed that due to delays in the distribution of question papers and answer sheets, candidates at the examination center lost approximately 30-35 minutes of the allotted time, adversely affecting their performance.

The petition, filed under Civil Writ Jurisdiction Case No.12146 of 2025, was heard by Mr. Justice Harish Kumar. The petitioner had sought a re-test for the candidates who appeared at the affected examination center, citing a severe disadvantage caused by the alleged mismanagement.

However, the National Testing Agency (NTA), represented by its Director, refuted these allegations through a counter affidavit. The affidavit emphasized that the examination at the Utkramit Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Kurthaul, Centre No. 1502107, was conducted strictly according to the NTA's prescribed procedures. The Centre Superintendent and Invigilator categorically denied any delays or complaints from candidates, asserting that the examination commenced at 2:00 pm and concluded at 5:00 pm without interruptions.

The court noted that the petitioner did not present any evidence to support the claims of mismanagement. Furthermore, there was no denial from the petitioner's side regarding the statements made in the counter affidavit filed by the NTA. Justice Harish Kumar concluded that there was no merit in the petition, leading to its dismissal.

This decision underscores the court's confidence in the NTA's conduct and management of the NEET UG Examination, assuring candidates and stakeholders of the integrity and fairness of the examination process.

Bottom Line:

NEET UG Examination - Allegation of mismanagement and delay in distribution of question papers and answer sheets leading to a claim of incomplete examination time - No evidence found to support the allegations - Strict compliance with the prescribed procedure of NTA affirmed - Writ petition dismissed.
