SC Collegium recommends 7 advocates as HC judges

New Delhi, Jun 3 The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of seven advocates as judges of the high courts of Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.


The collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, also recommended the elevation of two additional judges as permanent judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.


The collegium, in its meeting held on June 2, recommended appointment of six advocates as judges of the Karnataka High Court.


The recommended names are Raghavendra Seetharam Srivatsa, Hema Kulkarni, Subramanya Rangarao, Thadagavadi Prakash Vivekananda, Bakkeswara Pramod, and Hombe Gowda Shanthi Bhushan.


The collegium also approved the appointment of advocate Amit Lahoti as a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.


In a separate resolution, the collegium recommended the appointment of Additional Judges Justice Harmeet Singh Grewal and Justice Deepinder Singh Nalwa as permanent judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
