Prayagraj, Mar 11 (PTI) The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday adjourned its hearing on a petition challenging a Sambhal court's order rejecting an application seeking an FIR against Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, over his alleged controversial remarks in 2025.
Justice Samit Gopal adjourned the hearing on the request of the petitioner's counsel, who sought an adjournment. The court fixed March 25 for the next hearing.
According to the petitioner, Simran Gupta, Gandhi, in 2025, during the inauguration of the AICC office, allegedly remarked, "We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself."
Gupta alleged that these remarks have hurt public sentiments across the country.
According to the petitioner, Gandhi's alleged remark amounts to a seditious and anti-national statement made deliberately with the intent to destabilise the country.
Earlier as well, the court in its order dated February 11 had observed, "Learned counsel for the petitioner(s) states that he wants to file a supplementary affidavit and prays for two weeks' time for the same. Prayer is allowed."
