New Delhi, Oct 29 Following are the top Supreme Court stories on Wednesday:


The SC sought response of the Centre and the Ladakh administration on an amended plea of Sonam Wangchuk's wife which termed the climate activist's detention under the stringent National Security Act as illegal, arbitrary exercise violating his fundamental rights.


The SC said that some kind of nationwide "uniformity" in criteria for determining seniority of entry-level judicial officers is needed to deal with the slow and uneven career progression of such judges across India.


The SC granted one week time to the Maharashtra government for filing documents in a 2016 arson case involving advocate Surendra Gadling in which the apex court had flagged the delay in trial.


The SC expressed "utter displeasure" at the mode and manner in which the Odisha government is proceeding for recovery of dues from the defaulting lessees which had violated the mining norms.
