UP: Four sentenced to life imprisonment for killing Bulandshahr woman in 2019

Bulandshahr (UP), Jun 6 A local court here has sentenced four men to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of a woman in 2019, motivated by greed for her house and land, a prosecutor said on Saturday.


Additional District and Sessions Judge Rajesh Kumar of Anupshahr also imposed a fine of Rs 1.10 lakh each on the convicts, Aamir alias Hawwa, Aamir, Akram and Vivek.


Prosecutor Pravendra Singh said the case was registered at Dibai police station on March 12, 2019, after Parvez Ali Khan reported that his aunt, Akila, who lived alone in Daulatpur Khurd village, had been found murdered in her house. She was strangled with a dupatta during the night of March 11-12.


During the investigation, police identified the four accused. Aamir alias Hawwa allegedly confessed that he, along with the three others, had killed his aunt Akila over her house and land.


The court on Saturday found all four guilty and awarded them life imprisonment along with the fine, Singh said.
