Kolkata, May 5 Lawyers associated with the BJP's legal cell on Tuesday made a verbal appeal before the judges of the Calcutta High Court, urging them not to pass any adverse orders against the West Bengal government for the time being, citing the transition to a new administration.
Advocates Rajdeep Majumdar, Dhiraj Trivedi and Susmita Saha Dutta raised the matter in different courts, requesting that no adverse directions be issued against the state for a few days as the incoming BJP dispensation settles into office.
Chief Justice Sujoy Paul said he would consider the verbal plea, according to Dutta, who mentioned the matter before his court.
The BJP secured 207 seats in the 294-member assembly, ending the TMC's uninterrupted 15-year rule in the state.
