Hyderabad, Mar 24 The Telangana High Court has issued notices to Speaker of the state assembly Gaddam Prasad Kumar and MLA Danam Nagender on a writ petition challenging the Speaker's order dismissing a disqualification petition against the legislator.
The High Court on Monday issued the directions to file counter-affidavits while hearing the petition filed by BJP floor leader in the Assembly, Alleti Maheshwar Reddy, who sought to set aside the order passed by the Speaker dismissing the disqualification plea against Nagender.
The court posted the matter to April 16.
Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on March 11 dismissed petitions seeking the disqualification of two BRS MLAs for allegedly switching over to the ruling Congress.
The Speaker dismissed the pleas against Danam Nagender (MLA from Khairatabad) and Kadiam Srihari.
Maheshwar Reddy had earlier filed a petition before the speaker seeking Nagender's disqualification. The BJP MLA approached the High Court following the dismissal of the disqualification plea.
